I’m enjoying playing gigs at Bar Me - last gig was with Mark Howard on double bass - it is such a nice space and I love that there is a grand piano. See more in my blog on myspace. We’ve just put a couple of new photos of me on this site’s pictures page taken in the park the other day by MX photographer Chris Pavlich. Meanwhile the album recording is moving along with Barbs at the helm: the wonderful Adam Levy is contributing guitar in NYC and (also wonderful) Steve Hillier doing some keys in Brighton, England on the two songs we co-wrote.

I am excited to be recording eight more songs for the forthcoming album with the wonderful Barbara Griffin producing…. next week we are recording at Paradise Studios at Gosford with Hamish Stuart on drums and James Hazelwood on bass, and meanwhile are busy working on the tracks at Barbs’ place at Walsh Bay in Sydney. Tourism Australia and Tourism NSW invite Jane and Street Warriors to perform Jane’s song ‘Ancient Land’ to journalists at the International Media Centre for World Youth Day this Wednesday 16 July.  (See the official press release at www.myspace.com/janewalkermusic )

Being at the Dreaming Festival and performing Ancient Land with Street Warriors was a magical and special experience. The festival is such an amazing and fun celebration and I am still floating on its peaceful and positive wave! Street Warriors are fantastic live - go and see them if you can on their upcoming tour for a high energy blast of talent and power on stage. On Friday afternoon I got an SMS to say Bill Stewart’s art video featuring me swimming around underwater with an ambient acoustic mix of All Acts of Love as the soundtrack was going to be screened on RAGE late that night on ABC TV. We missed it as no TVs around at the Dreaming, still hopefully someone saw it and enjoyed it. Street Warriors did a re-mix of Ancient Land so it fitted in better to their high energy set, adding some beats and taking out a few bits of the track. I liked what they did, it seemed to work well and it was a blast for me to join them on stage and perform it with Abie aka Predator. The crowds gave me lots of support which was really nice. I wish I could have joined them on the last night on Blaktracks stage but I was already back in Sydney by then. Bet they were brilliant.
